The story of Gameweek 20 came on Wednesday night, as Chelsea’s winning streak met its end at 13 games as Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham moved up to third with a 2-0 win over the leaders at White Hart Lane to preserve their unbeaten home record this season.

Chelsea still retain the grace of a five-point gap after second-placed Liverpool dropped points at Sunderland, which allowed Manchester City and Manchester United to make up ground after wins over Burnley and West Ham respectively.

Tottenham’s North London rivals Arsenal also hit the headlines, coming back from three goals down to earn a dramatic 3-3 draw at Bournemouth, with Olivier Giroud netting a priceless equaliser in stoppage time.

Elsewhere, West Bromwich Albion continued their good run of form with a 3-1 turnaround victory at home to Hull, who subsequently dismissed manager Mike Phelan, Everton scored three times in the last 20 minutes to secure a comprehensive victory over out-of-sorts Southampton, Stoke won at home to Watford, and Leicester followed up their win last time out with a hard earned draw at Middlesbrough.

Nearer the bottom, Swansea’s win away to fellow strugglers Crystal Palace moved them off the bottom and just one point away from safety, which could prove vital come May with the arrival of new manager Paul Clement.

But who shone more than others to make our final Team of the Week of the New Year period?
