The festive football just kept on coming with a quick changeover into Gameweek 20 over the New Year period, and Chelsea once again showed no signs of letting up on their record breaking feat, extending their winning run to 13 games following a 4-2 triumph at home to Stoke.
Liverpool and Arsenal are still in hot pursuit however, the former beating Manchester City 1-0 to push Guardiola’s men out of the top four, and the latter beating Crystal Palace 2-0. Arsenal’s North London rivals Spurs moved into the top four in City’s stead, after an emphatic 4-1 win at Watford, their second win by such a margin on the bounce following their 4-1 win at Southampton last time out.
At the other end of the table, Swansea suffered a heavy home defeat to Bournemouth to dent their hopes of survival, whilst Sunderland’s hopes were also knocked back by a rampant Burnley. Struggling Hull had to make do with a point after conceding a late equaliser against Everton, whilst champions Leicester got a much-needed win at home to West Ham. Tony Pulis�West Brom continued their impressive run, after coming from behind to win 2-1 at Southampton, who suffer a second home defeat in a row.
