Premier League may consider rule change following Myles Lewis-Skelly’s celebration in Arsenal vs Man City
The Premier League may consider a rule change following Myles Lewis-Skelly’s celebration mocking Erling Haaland.
Lewis-Skelly was excellent against Manchester City as he netted his first senior goal and celebrated by imitating Haaland’s meditating pose.
In the aftermath of the previous meeting between the Gunners and the Premier League champions, Haaland sarcastically asked Lewis-Skelly, “Who are you?” before telling Mikel Arteta to “stay humble”.
Well, following a 5-1 thrashing by Arsenal and his celebration being nabbed, Haaland certainly knows who the talented teenager is now, but the incident could bring about change.

Myles Lewis-Skelly’s Haaland celebration could bring about a rule change
are reporting that the Premier League may consider changing the rules to prevent players from mocking others when they celebrate.
This follows Myles Lewis-Skelly mimicking Erling Haaland’s celebration and Iliman Ndiaye being booked for doing a Seagull impression after scoring against Brighton.
Following a fair amount of debate this week, Ian Wright says he can’t understand Lewis Skelly receiving backlash for the incident.
Meanwhile, the Premier League’s chief football officer, Tony Scholes, told Sky Sports that there needs to be a balance between having fun and mockery: “There’s a balance. I think we all like to see celebrations.
“Some of the celebrations have been very funny, entertaining, but there’s a line. Once it crosses over into mockery or criticism then we would need to deal with it.”
Pep Guardiola had no issues with Lewis-Skelly’s celebration so why should we?
Pep Guardiola didn’t seem to have an issue with Lewis-Skelly’s celebration and had very little to say about the incident in his presser.
Speaking after the match, Guardiola told the media: “I didn’t see that! That’s good……… That’s good,” before getting up and leaving the press conference.
Haaland seemed to thrive off the battle with Arsenal’s players having also had Gabriel Magalhaes celebrate right in his face following the opener.
The Norwegian also gave it back after the game as he pointed to his gold Premier League champion patch which all made for a very entertaining spectacle.
