Premier League fixture list day: Predicted Leeds XI for Manchester United

Leeds United have been handed a mouthwatering opening day clash after the Premier League announced the fixture list on Wednesday.

The Whites will travel to Manchester United. And neutrals will be hoping for a game like the previous meeting between the pair.

Leeds were beaten 6-2 on that occasion. And yet, Marcelo Bielsa’s side seemed to receive praise from all corners for their bravery and relentlessness.

Of course, the Whites will be desperate to avoid a repeat of that result. But the goalless draw later on in the season shows that they have the ability to stifle their rivals.

It will be fascinating to see what team Bielsa picks for the trip. But there is arguably one clue that can be taken from his previous opening day lineups.

Bielsa has rarely picked new signings in his sides for the first game of a campaign. In fact, it has only been one each year.

And following on from the likes of Barry Douglas, Ben White and Robin Koch may well be a new left-back.

As things stand, Gjanni Alioski is out of contract. And Leeds are interested in Javi Galan.

that the Whites are much further along with another, unnamed target. But Galan is perhaps the safest bet at this stage.

Elsewhere, Jack Harrison makes the team. , he will sign permanently in July for around £15 million.

A tough decision may have to be made at centre-back. Robin Koch, Pascal Struijk, Diego Llorente and Liam Cooper will all have their eyes on a start.

Bielsa to pick familiar Leeds side for opening day after fixture list announcement?

But perhaps the latter two may be the ones to get the nod. Of course, Struijk and Koch were hugely impressive at the end of last season.

Stuart Dallas may start ahead of Mateusz Klich in midfield. But the Northern Irishman is also a contender for the left-back spot if Leeds take longer to get a new name through the door.

And finally, Patrick Bamford, Raphinha and Rodrigo Moreno may all start in attacking areas.

With that in mind, here is how the lineup may look…
