Premier League club’s coach says 22-year-old Tottenham player ‘definitely’ can be a superstar

Nottingham Forest coach Gary Brazil has given his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur forward Brennan Johnson.

Brazil has noted how good Johnson has been in recent years and has outlined the potential he has got.

So, what has Gary Brazil said about Tottenham Hotspur forward Brennan Johnson? Let’s take a look.

Praise for Tottenham Hotspur forward Brennan Johnson

Well, Tottenham Hotspur signed Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2023. Spurs paid the Reds £47.5 million in transfer fees for the 22-year-old.

Johnson was superb for Forest, and I believe that Tottenham did the right thing in getting the deal done. The Wales international is 22 now and has huge potential.

The youngster is versatile as well. He can operate out wide or down the middle. Who knows, perhaps in the coming years, he could become a goal machine for Tottenham like Son Heung-min has.

Gary Brazil told : “Brennan had a significant knee injury when he was 15 and was out for the best part of a year. He had always looked technically very good, but he had not been the strongest.

“When he came back, his pace started to show, he became quicker. Your eyes would light up when you saw him. He started to play in the under-21s. He would have moments in games where you would be thinking, ‘Oh, wow… go on, son’.

“Duelling was always a big thing. You always watched to see how players did in duels. And he would go by people almost as if they were not there. We would encourage players like Brennan to get high and wide and try to take on defenders one-on-one. Brennan thrived.

“Now you see him doing it against Kyle Walker and you know that Tottenham have a very good player on their hands. He definitely can be anything he wants.”

Brennan Johnson a rising star

In my view, Brennan Johnson could become one of the best players in the Premier League. I believe that he could be a star for Tottenham Hotspur for years to come.

Johnson is doing well at Spurs at the moment. He is starting to make an impact on the match and is beginning to establish himself in the starting lineup.

The 22-year-old has made seven starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham this season. The forward has scored one goal and given two assists in those games.

The Wales international has made 51 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The youngster has scored nine goals and given five assists in those matches.
