Premier League club make enquiry to sign £12m Tottenham target who Dele Alli absolutely loves

One of Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League rivals have now made an approach to sign a player said to be on Johan Lange’s radar this summer.

Signing Archie Gray from Leeds United is an excellent start to Tottenham’s summer, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.

Predominantly a defensive midfielder, Gray’s ability to play as a right-back could be crucial for Ange Postecoglou across the coming season.

Emerson Royal still looks set to leave Tottenham, and with a Europa League campaign considered, Pedro Porro can’t play every single minute.

Gray would look well-positioned to play in Porro’s unique role, able to offer similar control in attacking areas.

That being said, even with Gray’s addition Spurs look light at the back, explaining why Tottenham are considering a move for Kyle Walker-Peters.

Returning to the Premier League with Southampton this season, Walker-Peters is capable on either side of the defence.

And although Spurs would seem well-positioned to make a move should they wish, they may now need to act hastily.

According to who shared the update on X, Brighton & Hove Albion have now made an enquiry for Walker-Peters.

Romano mentioned that Spurs’ London rivals West Ham United were also pushing for the defender.

And although the journalist mentioned Tottenham’s interest as well, he confirmed that the club have not made a bid or started talks thus far.

Romano shared: “Brighton have inquired about Kyle Walker-Peters, on the radar for some months.

“West Ham are still pushing for KWP and Flynn Downes may be part of the swap deal but deal not straightforward.

“Tottenham have been monitoring him as he’d tick several boxes, no bid/talks so far.”

It’s clear why Tottenham would be interested in re-signing the full-back, who Dele Alli once hailed as ‘fantastic’.

With respect, Walker-Peters looked above the Championship last season, and would have likely moved on were Southampton not promoted.

But given how crucial the England international has become for Russell Martin’s team, the Saints would surely demand a big profit on the they paid to buy Walker-Peters from Tottenham.

The 27-year-old is entering his prime years and would be an important asset for any side in the top half of the Premier League.

And it will now be interesting to see if Tottenham accelare their interest with news of Brighton’s approach.
