Predicting the next five Leeds players to make their debuts: Llorente and Gelhardt included

Four players have already made their debuts for Leeds United this season, with the likes of Robin Koch and Rodrigo taking little time to establish themselves as key men for Marcelo Bielsa.

And with nine games coming in the six weeks after they face Arsenal, it would perhaps not be a big surprise if Bielsa gets the chance to hand out a few more debuts before too long.

With that in mind, here is TBR’s prediction as to the next five players who may get the chance to make their Leeds bows – as well as the order in which they may come…

Diego Llorente

Diego Llorente is the one marquee signing still awaiting the chance to make his debut. The Spaniard cost £20 million (via ). But, after a brief stint on the bench, Llorente picked up an injury on international duty that has ruled him out since.

It remains to be seen how long he remains on the sidelines. But the smart money still suggests that he will be the next debutant.

Jack Jenkins

Bielsa made a big statement by promoting Jack Jenkins to the bench for Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace. The youngster appears to have really kicked on for the under-23s this year.

And he would surely come into contention if Bielsa needs to consider a replacement for Mateusz Klich at any point in the coming weeks.

Joe Gelhardt

Joe Gelhardt has been outstanding for the under-23s since arriving in the summer. It looks inevitable that the forward will get a chance before the campaign concludes.

He is a player who is making progress, according to Bielsa (via ). And some may have expected the 18-year-old to be on the bench at the weekend.

Cody Drameh

Like Gelhardt, Cody Drameh looks to be an inspired summer signing. The former Fulham man has been superb at right-back for Mark Jackson’s youngsters. He has also impressed on the right of a back three on a couple of occasions.

Defensively, Drameh looks really good. And there have been times when the teenager has made some incredibly exciting runs forward.

Displacing Luke Ayling is going to be a tall order in the coming years. But there is no question that Drameh looks destined for a very bright future.

Sam Greenwood

Sam Greenwood would potentially be higher on this list if Patrick Bamford was not in such stunning form. Greenwood won Premier League 2 Player of the Month for September.

He has been excellent since arriving from Arsenal. And if Bamford’s form drops off at any stage, expect some supporters to call for the youngster to get a chance.
