Predicted West Ham XI to face Sheffield United

West Ham United are back in Premier League action on Sunday, with Sheffield United their opponents at Bramall Lane.

The Blades have struggled in 2020/21, and currently sit rock bottom having not won a game yet.

It’s been a tough start for Chris Wilder’s side who were so good so often last term, and the Hammers will be hoping to heap more misery on them.

David Moyes were handed a very tricky start and have done pretty well, taking 11 points from eight games.

The Hammers now have a more ‘favourable’ run and will be hoping to perhaps progress into the top half.

Against Sheffield United, Moyes is likely to stick with the back five that has served him well in recent week, with  Lukasz Fabianski protected by Vladimir Coufal, Issa Diop, Angelo Ogbonna, Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku.

Fabian Balbuena has exerted himself for Paraguay over the international break and may be given a rest by Moyes, especially given the travelling he’s had to do.

In midfield, Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek will likely continue in the engine room.

In attack, Said Benrahma, 25, may well get his first start following his summer move from Brentford, with Jarrod Bowen on the opposite flank.

£7 million man Michail Antonio () is back in training but may not be risked given it was a hamstring injury that forced him off against Manchester City, so Sebastien Haller is probably in line to start again, and the Frenchman could really do with a solid performance.
