Predicted Rangers XI for Europa League clash: Two changes, Cedric Itten misses out

Steven Gerrard has a number of decisions to make when it comes to picking his starting XI as Rangers play host to Turkish giants Galatasaray in a hugely crucial Europa League play-off clash – but he might only make two changes to his side.

Rangers come into the match in superb form. Having clocked up 10 matches in all competitions, Rangers have kept a stunning eight clean sheets and conceded just three goals – one of which was an unfortunate own goal against Motherwell on Sunday.

In Europe, the Gers have scored nine goals in the previous two qualifying rounds – keeping two clean sheets. They beat Lincoln Red Imps 5-0, before securing an excellent 4-0 win over Dutch side Willem II away from home.

Now, the Gers face arguably one of their toughest European clashes under Gerrard. The Gers welcome Galatasaray to Ibrox on Thursday night, a team which boasts the likes of Radamel Falcao and Ryan Babel. Arda Turan misses out through illness.

However, the Gers are lacking in an attacker of their own. £2.5million () signing Cedric Itten will miss out after suffering a knee injury in training – joining Kemar Roofe, Joe Aribo, Brandon Barker and Nikola Katic on the sidelines.

Jordan Jones scored on Sunday, too, but he is expected to be replaced by Ianis Hagi with the latter looking to beat his father’s old team. Croatia international Borna Barisic is also expected to come in, replacing Calvin Bassey.
