‘Please no”: Tottenham fans react to comments from out-of-work 56-year-old manager

Jurgen Klinsmann claimed “anything is possible” when asked if he would be interested in being the next Tottenham manager – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have responded extremely negatively to his comments.

Spurs have handed Ryan Mason the job as interim boss until the end of the season after sacking Jose Mourinho earlier this week.

His sacking came on the same week as the League Cup final against Manchester City, leaving many people stunned.

Temporary manager Mason watched his side come from behind to beat Southampton last night in the Premier League, but he’s now got to get them ready for the biggest game of the season against Man City at Wembley Stadium.

Klinsmann, who is a popular figure at Spurs from his playing days, didn’t rule out being interested in the job when asked.

The 56-year-old is an out-of-work manager that last coached at Hertha Berlin, who he left in February 2020.

“I tell you anything is possible in life. I never thought in the first place I would coach Germany [at] a World Cup. I never thought I’d coach the US for six months or Bayern Munich. We will see in a couple of months who’s going to be the Spurs manager,” Klinsmann told .

Klinsmann may be well liked from his time at the club as a striker, but a selection of Spurs supporters on social media don’t want to see him return in a coaching role.

The German is recognised for managing his country at international level, as well has having a six-year spell with the United States’ national team.

It seems there is a general consensus within the fanbase that they are hoping for a young appointment who can implement some eye-catching offensive football.
