‘Please god no’, ‘rather play 10 men’: Some fans react after Arsenal player is linked with their club
Speculation surrounding Matteo Guendouzi’s future at Arsenal has increased in recent days and, as such, the Gunners midfielder has been linked with a number of clubs.
Guendouzi made headlines last week after grabbing Brighton striker Neal Maupay by the throat towards the end of Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat at the Amex Stadium.
Maupay suggested afterwards that the Gunners lacked “humility” and hinted at Guendouzi making disparaging comments during the game, which led to the pair clashing at full-time.

The 21-year-old was then removed from Mikel Arteta’s squad to face Southampton in midweek due to , and on Friday a report from France suggested the Gunners would allow him to leave the club.
claimed that numerous clubs are eyeing Guendouzi including Manchester United, Inter Milan, Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid, with Arsenal reportedly placing a €40million (around £36.5million) price tag on their player.
, however, reported that a meeting had taken place with Guendouzi in which Arsenal reiterated their faith in him and apparently said they didn’t want to sell him.
Nonetheless, the midfielder reportedly stressed that he needs to play regularly to continue his progression and keep his hopes alive for earning a European Championship or Olympic spot with France next year.
That said, Guendouzi’s transfer links with Manchester United didn’t go particularly well with the Red Devils fanbase, and it’s safe to say many of them wouldn’t be keen on prising him from the Emirates Stadium.
Below is some of their fans’ social media reaction to the speculation:
