“Please”: Aston Villa fans positive about reported interest in Fulham midfielder

Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Fulham’s Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are buzzing with the speculation ahead of the summer transfer window.

, Dean Smith’s Villa are monitoring with the 25-year-old following Fulham’s relegation from the Premier League.

It is explained that the Cameroon international may be sold now if Fulham receive £20million for his signature, and Villa are looking to improve their squad for next year, which will be helped down to the fact they are in a better financial position to most.

Additionally, the report mentions both Arsenal and Everton as potential suitors for the £67,000-a-week () star as well.

A selection of Villa fans on social media have given a big thumbs up to the idea of targeting Anguissa, with one even comparing the powerhouse to ex-Manchester City and Premier League legend Yaya Toure.

Anguissa has played in 33 of Fulham’s 35 league games this season, but has been unable to keep the London club in the top division.

The defensive midfielder has been one of several individuals to shine at Craven Cottage. Unfortunately, as a team collective they’ve not been decisive enough in both boxes.

He’s a strong presence in the centre of the park with a mixture of strength, agility and energy.
