‘Playground footballer vibe’: Rio Ferdinand blown away by player Liverpool reportedly want
Reported Liverpool target Jadon Sancho has been praised by Rio Ferdinand for having the “imagination” and “carefree spirit” akin to a “playground footballer”.
The claimed in February that the Reds had informed Borussia Dortmund of their desire to sign the England international later this year.
Numerous other elite clubs have also been linked with Sancho, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea ().
Sancho has helped Dortmund to second in the Bundesliga table, just four points behind Bayern Munich, as the league prepares to return this weekend.
Individually, the 20-year-old has weighed in with a simply remarkable 31 goals and 42 assists from just 90 first-team games.
When asked by the Acro Academy on Instagram whether he’d like to see Sancho at Old Trafford, Ferdinand replied, as quoted by : “I hope they do [sign Sancho] man.
“He’s got that imagination, that carefree spirit – almost like that playground footballer vibe that I love. And he’s bringing it all to the big stage.”

Liverpool are one of the strongest clubs in world football and Sancho is one of the best young footballers out there, so it’s no surprise to see the two linked – the 20-year-old would make the Reds’ already fearsome attacking ranks even more frightening.
A recent report from claims Sancho has an agreement with Dortmund to move clubs this summer, and given Liverpool are probably the most attractive proposition for a player in terms of English clubs really it’s just a question of whether the Reds have the funds to purchase him.
