Player Tottenham signed for just £15m now thought to be worth more than Moises Caicedo at Chelsea

A player Tottenham Hotspur signed for a relatively modest fee in 2022 is now said to be worth more than Moises Caicedo.

Ange Postecoglou is still in the relatively early days of his squad building in North London, he’s still working with a lot of players from previous projects.

And whilst some, like Son Heung-min and Cristiano Romero look perfect for this new era, others like Eric Dier have departed.

Postecoglou has begun to shape a squad in his image by signing players like Timo Werner, who excelled against Crystal Palace yesterday.

But perhaps what has been most impressive about his early days is how much he’s improved a few individuals.

Both Pedro Porro and Yves Bissouma are unrecognisable from last season, two players who have now become crucial to any top four hopes.

But perhaps no player has improved more than Destiny Udogie, a 21-year-old who is now considered one of the best full-backs in the league.

Udogie signed for Spurs with a lot of potential, but few expected he would realise it so quickly in his first season playing for the club.

And via a new report from the , Udogie’s progress has now been recognised in his value.

Udogie, who signed for Spurs for in 2022, is now thought to be worth £67m according to this new information.

And when you consider that the same list puts Moises Caicedo just below that value, who cost Chelsea , it shows just how much Udogie has flourished at Tottenham.

The move has clearly been a win for Spurs’ talent identification too, who had similar success scouting Guglielmo Vicario in Italy.

There’s clearly a real reason to be optimistic about what the future could hold for Postecoglou, especially if he’s underpinned by such good work in the transfer market.

That being said, it’s an important summer on the horizon for Tottenham, who will need to be decisive with the futures of several players.

Moreover, with that in mind, a decision will need to be made in regards to signing Timo Werner permanently.

And despite loving Werner’s attitude in yesterday’s win, Alan Shearer still had one concern.
