Player Tottenham are trying to sign along with Mathys Tel now left out of squad for deadline day game

Tottenham could make two signings before the 11pm transfer deadline.

Spurs have agreed to sign Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich – after the France U21 international changed his mind about a move to N17.

It is believed Ange Postecoglou spoke to the Bayern Munich No.39 over the phone in a late attempt to convince him – a conversation which has seemingly had the desired effect.

However, Tottenham are also pushing to sign Axel Disasi from Chelsea after losing Radu Dragusin to a serious knee injury.

Now, there has been an interesting development involving the France international.

Enzo Maresca drops Axel Disasi for Chelsea vs West Ham

The Chelsea No.2 was on the bench last time out when the west Londoners suffered a 3-1 defeat at Manchester City.

For today’s deadline day clash against West Ham – however – Disasi is nowhere to be seen.

Maresca has not even named the £39m defender on his bench for the London derby at Stamford Bridge, which strongly suggests the 26-year-old could be on the move before the transfer window closes at 11pm.

Latest update on Tottenham and Axel Disasi

TBR Football understand Chelsea are pushing Disasi to join Tottenham – with Maresca keen to offload the Frenchman.

However, the man born in Gonesse wants to join Aston Villa instead of Spurs, and has already agreed personal terms with the Villans.

Chelsea do not want to send Disasi to Aston Villa – as the Blues are competing against Aston Villa for a place in the UEFA Champions League.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who states: “It depends on what the player wants to do. I think if Axel Disasi decides to call in the next few hours and say, okay, I’m coming to Tottenham, they are still keen on making this deal happen.

“At the moment, that is not happening. Disasi agreed terms with Aston Villa, he wanted to join Aston Villa, Champions League football, a direct call with Unai Emery, but Chelsea are not giving players to Aston Villa on loan.”
