Guirassy joined Amiens on loan from Koln in January 2019 and was signed permanently ahead of the 2019-20 season.

With the French football season decided on “points per game” following the suspension due to the global health crisis, Amiens have dropped out of the top flight.

Although the Unicorns are , club president Bernard Joannin has admitted that he won’t stand in Guirassy’s way after he stayed put in January to aid their relegation battle.

“With Serhou, we have a commitment (to letting him go this summer),” said Joannin, in quotes translated by .

“He had important proposals from English clubs (in January), but he wanted to stay to save the club – these were the words he said to me. He wanted to go to until the end of the story with his teammates.

“(Now) we have important proposals from England and also from France.”

Guirassy has also been linked with Arsenal’s London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, and is believed to have a £15million price tag, according to .

Back in 2016, claimed that Wenger was alerted to Guirassy’s displays at former club Auxerre, and was prepared to sanction a £1million move to sign the sharpshooter.

Guirassy is a talented player who has been praised by the Ligue 1 , which wrote about him: “Tall and powerful, Guirassy has all the hallmarks of a classic target man, and he can play this role.

“Strong in the air and in the challenge, Guirassy has that killer instinct and is a tough prospect for defenders and ‘keepers alike.”

Even though the reported price tag has gone up 15-fold, it’s still a reasonable amount for Arsenal, especially if they recoup a decent amount of money through player sales.

That said, would Guirassy have what it takes to instantly replace a player of the calibre of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette?
