Player Gary Lineker called the ‘new Messi’ now wants Premier League move after holding talks with Everton
Everton now look well positioned to make another signing this summer as one target wants a move to the Premier League.
Kevin Thelwell – Director of Football at Goodison Park – has already managed to sign Tim Iroegbunam and Iliman Ndiaye from Aston Villa and Marseille respectively.
Everton are also making good progress in a deal to sign Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds United.
Now – as talks to buy the Italy international continue – Everton also look to be in pole position to sign a free agent…
Martin Braithwaite wants Premier League move after talks with Everton
A story from in Spain now states that Martin Braithwaite wants to join a Premier League club.
It comes after Danish news outlet claimed that the Denmark international has been holding talks with Everton about a move to Goodison Park this summer.
Braithwaite has just triggered a clause in his own contract with Espanyol that means he can leave for free this summer, after an outstanding 2023/24 campaign in which he scored 22 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions.

The Dane – who Gary Lineker once called the “new Messi” – has experience of playing in English football from his time at Middlesbrough, where he made 36 appearances from 2017 to 2019.
Toffees should make the Denmark international an offer
Everton would be foolish not to at least put a 12-month contract on the table for Braithwaite.
The man from Esbjerg clearly knows how to finish chances, based on his goal record from last season, and despite the fact he is now 33 years of age, he could represent superb value for money on a free transfer.
There will be little pressure on Braithwaite to be the outright No.9 at Everton, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto already at Goodison Park, so it would be a wise move to provide more quality depth to Sean Dyche’s attack.

Ultimately, it is a relatively risk free deal for Everton, which carries plenty of potential upside.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as the Toffees seem well positioned to bring Braithwaite back to England this summer.
