Pickford bounced back from England mistake with Everton clean sheet
Jordan Pickford bounced back from a poor England performance with a superb showing against Crystal Palace. The goalkeeper played a key role in the Toffees earning a valuable three points.
The 24-year-old remains relatively inexperienced for a goalkeeper and he is learning the game. There will be mistakes, but it is clear that he has the potential to be one of the best produced in this country.
During the second-half, Pickford saved Luka Milivojevic’s penalty to keep the game level. It was a poor strike, but it was good awareness from the goalkeeper to stop it.

In addition to that, Pickford made a number of good saves and maintained good control of his area. The former Sunderland player has excellent distribution and that was seen in the first-half, as he nearly played in Richarlison from his own box.
It was the penalty save that had the biggest impact as it turned the game in Everton’s favour. If they had gone a goal down at that point, it would have been difficult to recover.
Everton have now moved into 8th position and they will be eyeing up a push to compete with the top six. Pickford showed impressive character on Sunday and proved why the club have put so much faith in him.
