Photo: Stadium screen drops big hint as Tottenham player closes in on summer exit
Fabio Paratici is quickly becoming much more busy at Tottenham. Having got the first signing off and running in Pierluigi Gollini, a tricky player-plus-cash deal looks on the cards next. Now, an image from the Sevilla stadium hints a deal could be close, as Erik Lamela looks set to leave Tottenham.
Multiple reports have since kept us up to date on Tottenham’s bid to secure a deal to sign Sevilla wonderkid Bryan Gil. The 20-year-old is currently in Tokyo as Spain look to win a gold medal at the Olympics. Fabrizio Romano first ran the story, claiming Spurs have included Lamela in a deal for Gil.
It is now widely expected that a deal of around £21.6million and Lamela will go through, and Gil goes the other way. Sevilla have now dropped a big hint on the situation, with a picture emerging on social media.
Is Lamela and cash a good deal for Tottenham and Sevilla ace Gil?
Spurs fans have been given the chance to scout Gil themselves with the winger making two substitute appearances at this summer’s Olympics. The majority will tell you that having seen him play, it is an exciting signing. They are right to do so, but there must also be some caution regarding Gil.
The Sevilla talent is far from the finished article. Last season at Eibar, he got four goals and four assists in 29 games. Hardly groundbreaking stats. But he is showing everything needed to go on and become a proper talent. If given the game time and the right coaching, it could be a stunning bit of business.
