Photo: Lampard calls up ‘classy’, ‘skilful’ 18-year-old to Everton training ahead of FA Cup clash
Everton boss Frank Lampard has been putting his players through their paces at Finch Farm ahead of their FA Cup fifth-round tie.
The Toffees host non-league Boreham Wood at Goodison Park in a 8:15pm kickoff on Wednesday night.
Everton go into the game on the back of a controversial 1-0 defeat against Premier League leaders Manchester City.

The Toffees were left “absolutely incandescent” at Chris Kavanagh’s decision not to penalise Rodri’s seemingly clear handball in the area.
At the other end, Phil Foden got the winner eight minutes from time, following an error by Michael Keane.
Everton have reportedly made an official complaint to the Premier League about recent decisions made by officials.
However, the Toffees must refocus in order to avoid falling prey to what would be a remarkable giant-killing.
Given Everton’s relegation battle, Lampard is nonetheless likely to make changes for the game against the National League aside.
And this week, one of the Blues’ most talented youth players was pictured training alongside the first-teamers.

“Composed, skilful”
Reece Welch is an 18-year-old centre-back who has been with Everton since the age of seven.
In September 2020, the “” defender signed his first professional contract at Goodison, taking him until 2023.
Welch earned promotion to the Under-23s last summer and has made 18 Premier League 2 appearances this term.
The 6ft 3in talent has also made three EFL Trophy appearances this season, plus three FA Youth Cup outings.
In 2020, named Welch in their list of 20 outstanding talents at Premier League club academies.
“Welch is a composed, skilful central defender whose appetite to learn and work on the defensive side of his game has impressed the club’s coaching staff,” they wrote.
He’s yet to make his debut, but in an FA Cup clash against a non-league side, you’d think he could well get some minutes.
