The image will likely come as a relief to Villa fans who had seen the negotiations draw on and on, with delays over the fee and add-ons for the player, who also played at the African Cup of Nations this summer.
But he can be the replacement for Albert Adomah, and offer the service for new hitman Wesley, as well as looking to find the back of the net himself.
International team-mate Ahmed Elmohamady should help Trezeguet settle and the success of other in Mo Salah should boost his confidence that he can be a hit at Villa Park.
