Photo: 19-year-old Liverpool gem in training pre-Chelsea, he’s ‘the best’ one coach has ever worked with

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been putting the Reds players through their paces ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final.

The Reds overcame Arsenal over two legs in the semi-final to secure a trip to Wembley, where they will face Chelsea.

Liverpool are still in contention for all four trophies this season, and would win their first League Cup since 2012 if they triumph on Sunday.

On Friday, the Reds media team published photos of their players in training at Kirkby.

One of those pictured is an academy star who’s currently on loan but is still able to train with his parent club.

That player is Jakub Ojrzynski, a 19-year-old goalkeeper currently on loan at Welsh Premier League outfit Caernarfon Town.

Ojrzynski Liverpool from Legia Warsaw in the summer of 2019 and signed his first professional contract with the Reds in July 2020.

Following a 2020-21 campaign in which he played for Liverpool’s U18s and U23s, Ojrzynski penned a new long-term deal with the Reds in July 2021.

The Poland youth international then sealed a season-long loan switch to Caernarfon for 2021-22.

Ojrzynski has made 19 appearances for the Welsh club in all competitions this term, keeping five clean sheets.

“He has always produced top saves”

Speaking to in November, Caernarfon goalkeeping coach Kevin Sheret revealed that the teenager is still training with his parent club.

“He trains with Liverpool every day,” he explained. “That’s the agreement so he gets that contact.”

Sheret also said: “The games he has been involved in he has always had a say in the way that the game has gone.

“He has always produced top saves. Even in games that we have lost, he has kept us in the game.

“He is the best I have ever worked with and all of that is down to the way he applies himself.

“It is great that we have been able to get someone of that calibre into the club.”
