Phil Thompson says people aren’t talking about ‘superb’ Liverpool player enough after Real Madrid game
Liverpool were utterly brilliant against Real Madrid on Wednesday evening.
To a man, the Reds were outstanding at Anfield as they stepped 🥃up for another big European night under the lights.
Many players re♒ceived huge plaudits after the game.
Conor Bradley received praise, while Arne Slot hailed Caoimhin Kelleher after the game.
Speaking on the Official Liverpool Podcast, Phil Thompson has been reviewing this performance, and he says that Ryan Gravenberch’s performance was quietly brilliant even i🔯f the focus wasn’t on him for most of the match.

Ryan Gravenberch was brilliant vs Real Madrid
Thompson spoke highly of Liverpol’s showing against the European champ💜ions.
The pundit says that Alexis Mac Allister was outstanding, and while Ryan Gravenberch hasn’t been at the centre of much ไattention, he was absolutely superb during the game.
“Mac Allister was outstanding today. He was back to his best. And Gravenberch🌊, my goodness, we’r🌌e looking at other players, we’re not looking at him, but He’s been absolutely superb tonight. That area has gelled so much. That has been one of the biggest positives in this side,” Thompson said.
Ryan Gravenberch stats vs Real Madrid
Thompson was full of praise for Gravenberch after his performance ♒against Madrid, and for good reason.
Indeed, th🌠e Dutchman was excellent against Carlo ♐Ancelotti’s side, but the stats don’t necessarily do him justice.
This performance was a great example of how stats don’t always tell the ful♋l story♔.

Gravenberch has been compared to Patrick Vieira for his perf▨ormances this season, and he showed that side of his game against Real Madrid.
The Dutchman shut down any potential creativity from the Madrid mid🦩field with ease, and while that didn’t necessarily translate into huge tackling or interception stats, his positional sense left Madrid with very few options.
As ever, Graven💛berch was also excellent on the ball, he broke the lines excellently in the midfield, and he rarely mis꧙placed a pass.
This has been an incredible season from Gravenberch at Anfield, and if he keeps 🎐up꧒, the Reds could well be champions of Europe and the Premier League come the end of the season.
