Phil Foden stunned by ‘unbelievable’ player who has agreed personal terms to join Tottenham

One Tottenham Hotspur target has done something that has blown Phil Foden away.

Spurs have started the transfer window well. They re-signed Timo Werner on another loan deal before sealing a move for Archie Gray. Young Lucas Bergvall has also officially arrived.

Tottenham, however, are not done just yet. They are expected to bring in a few more players before the window shuts in August, and a new striker is likely to be on the agenda.

One player who has been linked with Spurs has impressed everyone recently, including Manchester City star Foden.

Phil Foden amazed after seeing what Tottenham target Ivan Toney did

Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham this summer.

The Englishman has entered the final year of his contract, and as things stand, Toney will not be extending his deal with Brentford.

Nothing will happen until England’s participation in Euro 2024 comes to an end, but right after that, there is every chance Toney will be on the move.

Ange Postecoglou needs a new striker this summer, and reports have claimed that Toney has already agreed personal terms with Tottenham over a move in this window.

The striker checks a lot of boxes for Spurs, and he would be a great signing for them – not just because of his goals from open play but also his ability from the penalty spot.

In England’s quarter-final clash against Switzerland at Euro 2024, Toney converted his penalty in the shootout. What impressed many people is that he didn’t even look at the ball before striking it.

Foden, who was subbed off before the shootout, seems amazed by that technique, and he has now lavished praise on Toney for his spot-kick.

When asked which penalty was his favourite, Foden told : “I think Ivan’s because it’s crazy, to be honest. He never looks at the ball and generates the power that he needs to score.

“So, yeah, I just find it unbelievable how he does that.”

How much Tottenham are prepared to pay for Toney

Toney has been open to a move away from Brentford for a while now.

The England international was on the radar of big clubs in January 2024, even though he had missed the first half of the season due to a ban.

Brentford were simply not ready to let him leave for a small fee then, and it looks like their demands aren’t cheap now either.

Reports have claimed that the Bees want £60 million, but Tottenham are only prepared to pay £45 million for Toney in this window.

It remains to be seen if the two sides can find a compromise on the fee considering that Toney is said to have agreed personal terms with Spurs already.
