Peter Schmeichel on who he prefers out of Liverpool’s Alisson and Manchester City’s Ederson
Liverpool and Manchester City have two of the best goalkeepers in the world in Alisson Becker and Ederson.
The two Brazilians have been superb for the Reds and the Citizens respectively over the years, helping both clubs win a multitude of trophies.
Alisson and Ederson are international rivals, with the Liverpool man generally getting the nod as starter for Brazil, winning 71 caps to Ederson’s 25 so far in his career.
Now, goalkeeping legend Peter Schmeichel has had his say on who he thinks is better between the Anfield star and the Etihad ace.

Peter Schmeichel picks Man City’s Ederson over Liverpool’s Alisson
Schmeichel, speaking on the Seaman Says podcast, picked Ederson over Alisson, which David James disagreed with.
When pressed on why he picked the Man City man, Schmeichel said: “I think he’s absolutely perfect for Man City.
“You take him out of Man City, replace him with Allison, for instance, it’s not going to work the same.”
Schmeichel stressed that his choice wasn’t meant to be a slight on Alisson, who he also rates highly.
“I like Allison, I think he’s probably the best in one-to-one situations and certain other areas,” said the Manchester United legend.
“But I think, judging goalkeepers, you have to judge them for what they have to do for their team.
“And I don’t think there’s a there’s a goalkeeper in the Premier League that is doing a better job for his team than Ederson.”

When Ederson could next play for Brazil amid Alisson injury issues
The general consensus seems to be that Alisson is a better all-round keeper, but that Ederson is very good with his feet and distribution.
Ederson is certainly a better fit for a Man City side for whom playing from the back is key, and he’d likely not do so well in a team with a different playing style.
Historically, Alisson has been the preferred option between the sticks for the Brazil national team.
However, with the Liverpool keeper now sidelined, Ederson is as good as you can get from a replacement for their upcoming games.
