Peter Grant says Celtic’s players were getting frustrated with Luis Palma last night

There are not many negatives you can take away from Celtic’s win over Hibs last night, is there?

Four goals, lots of possession and a team that looked like they wanted to win straight from the first whistle.

For too long the Celtic fans have watched their team get off to a slow start and meander their way through 90 minutes.

Not last night. Apart from conceding, there was not much to complain about. Well, from a Celtic fan perspective at least.

However, Peter Grant has shared what he noticed about the Celtic players and Luis Palma right before the Honduran provided the assist for Matt O’Riley’s goal.

Grant said [], “I think, Brendan, it’s good management because he was giving him the old thumbs up and giving him a clap as if to say well done because you could see he was starting to get frustrated and the players were getting frustrated with him.”

Grant noticed that Greg Taylor was making penetrating runs down the left flank for Celtic only for Palma to continually cut inside and not use the fullback’s attacking position.

After a few occasions, Taylor was getting annoyed with his teammate, as was Rodgers, only for the Honduran to pull a lovely rabbit out of the hat for O’Riley to nod home.

Palma has been excellent for Celtic this season and when you look at his stats from last night’s game (which I will cover later) he was sensational.

Now on six goals and six assists in 15 appearances, the £3.5m signing from Aris has proven to be a shrewd signing for Celtic as he has proven his quality not only domestically, but also in the Champions League.

Palma is clearly delighted at joining Celtic and loving life in Glasgow as his performances are showing. Let’s hope he can keep it up for the rest of December as the games come thick and fast.
