Peter Grant says Celtic are about to sign a really ‘powerful’ striker

The Celtic fans want quality. Brendan Rodgers wants quality. With the transfer window edging to close, are both going to get it?

With Nicholas Khun added to the Parkhead ranks and Adam Idah on his way in, the jury is out on whether or not that quality will, in fact, be added.

However, Peter Grant’s latest appraisal of Adam Idah could allay the fears of the Celtic fans after he gave his verdict on the 22-year-old Republic of Ireland forward.

Grant said [], “I’d say he is more of a powerful striker. More direct. I wouldn’t say he’s a link player in any shape or form.

“I think he likes running and seeing the goals. I think he’s one of these guys that if they have an opportunity, if he’s not got a lot of time to think I think that’s when he’s at his best.

“Some strikers if they have a lot of time to think take two, three touches and not hit the target.

“I think he’s one that he’s more off the cuff and just going to bang it into the back of the net.”

Look, I am not daft. Just because Grant says he’s a good player it doesn’t mean he can do it for Celtic. And if Idah really was that powerful, then why is he not playing for Norwich?

Some would say scoring seven goals this season (six in the Championship and one in the FA Cup) is still a decent return but is The Canaries’ third-choice striker the answer to Celtic’s striking needs?

I guess the fans just need to give Idah time and hope that id he gets minutes on the park ahead of Kyogo he knows exactly where the back of the net is.
