Peter Crouch thinks Dele Alli will feel ‘totally deflated’ after latest Tottenham setback
Former Tottenham star Peter Crouch has told the that he hopes to see Dele Alli earn another chance to impress Jose Mourinho.
The 24-year-old has moved down the pecking order under the Portuguese boss and was on the bench for yesterday’s win against Burnley.
Alli has made just seven appearances in the Premier League this season, with just one outing coming in the way of a start.

The midfielder registered two assists and bagged an overhead kick in a midweek European tie but still couldn’t force his way into yesterday’s team.
Crouch thought he was brilliant during that contest and hopes another chance isn’t too far away.
“I was at Tottenham last week and I thought Alli was superb. He had a glint in his eyes, he looked hungry and a class above. His quality shone and it was a reminder of how good he can be.
“I can understand why he would have been frustrated yesterday. We aren’t privy to what is happening behind closed doors but I expect Dele to have been totally deflated at being on the bench again.
“I hope he gets another chance.”
TBR View: Alli must be growing frustrated
It must be really hard for the England international to be working tirelessly each day and producing the goods in Europe only to be sat on the bench in the Premier League.
On his day, Alli is quality and perhaps Mourinho hasn’t been overly reasonable when it comes to his game time – especially of late when Spurs have struggled for results.

For whatever reason, he doesn’t seem overly fancied by the boss and that must be a cause for concern in the mind of Alli.
The midfielder earns at Tottenham and if he isn’t going to play then maybe they will look to offload him in the summer.
Alli will want to play regularly to revive his international chances and choosing to move on at the end of the season might be the best decision for all parties.
