Peter Crouch sends five-word message after Arsenal star Bukayo Saka shines for England

Peter Crouch uploaded a five-word message on Twitter after watching Arsenal star Bukayo Saka shine for England.

Gareth Southgate’s England side secured top spot in their Euro 2020 group with a 1-0 win over Czech Republic on Tuesday night at Wembley Stadium.

Raheem Sterling’s winning header saw the Three Lions move into top spot in Group D. Therefore, they’ll play the runners-up from Group F in the Round of 16. It will be one from either France, Germany, Portugal or Hungary.

Southgate made four changes to his England XI last night, including the enforced one that saw Mason Mount drop out due to his period of self-isolation.

Arsenal teenager Saka came in for his first appearance of the tournament. But, it looked like he belonged on the big stage.

The 19-year-old attacker was heavily involved in Sterling’s goal. In addition, he won the man of the match award for his dazzling individual performance.

Crouch posed the question on post-match over whether or not England can drop Saka for the knockout rounds.

It would be incredibly harsh for England to drop Arsenal star Saka

Saka can’t have done any more on Tuesday night with his England opportunity.

The versatile youngster slotted in as a right-winger. As a result, Manchester City’s Phil Foden missed out.

Saka gelled perfectly in the final third alongside England’s other attackers, and it was his driving run forward with the ball that happened in the build-up to the winner.

However, it seems unlikely that Southgate will pick such an expansive style in the last-16 if they come up against one of Europe’s elite nations.

Saka has made himself extremely popular with England supporters after Tuesday, so expect there to be a rallying cry from fans for the Arsenal sensation to stick in the XI.
