Peter Crouch says Spurs have a ‘criminally underrated’ player in their ranks, could wreak havoc v Arsenal
Peter Crouch has told the Daily Mail that Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min is a “criminally underrated” player.
The Spurs cult hero also feels Arsenal will have to be careful against the 29-year-old, saying he’s “up there” with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Tottenham, like Liverpool, boast a great front line, with Son, Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski all flying.
Son, in particular, has once again been absolutely sensational for Spurs this term.
Son has registered 20 goals and eight assists in just 32 Premier League appearances in 2021-22.
His tally places him just two goals behind Liverpool’s Salah in the Premier League Golden Boot race.
Tottenham have slipped to four points behind Arsenal in the race for a top-four finish.
But with Spurs and their rivals locking horns this week, Antonio Conte’s charges are still in it.
Crouch was speaking to the Daily Mail about the north London derby alongside Arsenal legend Martin Keown.
When asked about a key battle in the game, the retired striker said: “Whoever is looking after Kane and Son!
“That is the area of the pitch where this is won and lost because those two can take a game away from anyone.
“Son is criminally underrated – he’s up there with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.”
“A player that wants to improve himself”
Tottenham really did land a bargain in 2015 when they bought Son from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported .
Aside from being a world-class forward, the 29-year-old also has the perfect attitude on and off the pitch.
Antonio Conte : “(Son) is a player that wants to improve himself. This is the main reason you are seeing him in this peak of form.
“He is working very hard, I see him every day with the will and the right desire to improve himself and work for the team.
“He is scoring a lot but at the same time during the game he helps the team a lot without the ball.
“For me when this happens I am very happy because I understand I have a player that thinks not only for himself but thinks for the team before himself.”
