Peter Crouch praises ‘fantastic’ Tottenham star Carlos Vinicius

Peter Crouch has given a glowing verdict on Tottenham’s Brazilian star Carlos Vinicius, claiming he’s exactly what they’ve been missing in their squad.

The left-footed striker joined on loan from Benfica in the summer to help provide some extra firepower in attack and has made a decent start to his Spurs career.

After netting twice on Thursday night in the Europa League against Ludogorets, the 25-year-old now has two goals and three assists in just five appearances for the club.

Pundit and ex-Spurs forward Crouch has stated that he’s the perfect back-up option for talisman Harry Kane and feels he’s a missing piece in the squad.

Jose Mourinho now appears to have two quality options in most positions and Vinicus is giving the manager the option to rotate in European fixtures without any fear.

“I think Vinicius is a fantastic back-up to Kane. As long as they can keep him happy. I think it’s something they’ve really missed Tottenham a back-up striker,”

TBR’s View:

Vinicus joined Spurs a few months ago knowing that he was going to be playing second fiddle to Kane, but credit to him for making the most of any minutes he gets on the pitch and he looks like someone the club should try sign on a permanent basis.

He’s a South American forward that looks composed around the penalty box and has a cultured left foot, plus he can hold the ball up with his strength and looks a natural fit for English football.

Most of his opportunities have come in Europe so far, but he looks like a great addition to the squad and it does help ease the pressure somewhat on Kane.
