Their latest victory came in Portugal. Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino both scored twice. Meanwhile, Sadio Mane also got on the scoresheet.

But it was Jones who seemed to steal the show in Estadio do Dragao. The 20-year-old provided two assists and played a key role in the opening goal, with his shot falling into the path of Salah.

Jordan Henderson lauded his display after the victory. And Crouch suggested that the skipper was right to heap praise on the starlet.

“He was the catalyst of so much good play from Liverpool tonight,” . “He was very, very impressive. He’s got excellent feet, he was driving, he made the right runs at the right time.”

No further proof needed that Liverpool have special talent on their hands in Jones

It has appeared for some time that Jones is destined for a very bright future. It is often easy to forget just how young he is.

He has been in and around Klopp’s first-team for a while. And the fans have known for a long time that he has an outrageous amount of talent.

But he appears to have now kicked on. His form is all the more impressive given that he rarely played in the opening weeks of the campaign.

He did not feature in any of Liverpool’s first four league games. He was on the bench for two of them.

As long as he now stays fit, it seems incredibly difficult to imagine Jones spending anything like four straight games out of the side anytime soon.
