Peter Crouch hails James Milner performance in Liverpool win v Bournemouth
Liverpool moved a step closer towards their first Premier League title on Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield.
Despite Callum Wilson’s opening goal for the visiotrs, the Reds responded with goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane before half-time to wrap up three points.
The Merseyside giants are now just three wins away from lifting the title and still have a 100 per winning record at home in the league this campaign.
Peter Crouch singled out experienced star James Milner for his individual display at the weekend.
The 34-year-old was back in the Reds XI to captain the side, with Andy Robertson left out as a precaution ahead of next week’s Champions League showdown with Atletico Madrid.
Milner slotted into the left-back position seamlessly to deliver a quality performance, which included a remarkable goal-line clearance.
He’s a central midfielder by trade and very much a squad player, but uses his experience so well whenever called upon.
“What a player he’s been and he was magnificent again today. These type of players are invaluable, he’s not getting the minutes he probably deserves,”
“He’s playing at left-back today no questions asked, fantastic performance and what a career he’s having.”

TBR’s View:
Milner may well drop out of the starting line up against Atletico, but if needed he could definitely do a job in that fixture and it must be hard for manager Jurgen Klopp to leave him out.
His versatility to play a number of positions is a real bonus to have in the squad and he was a real leader on the pitch against Bournemouth, especially when it came to the game management late on.
Liverpool are nowhere near their dazzling best right now, but crunched out yet another win and they’ve been a cut above the rest this season.
