‘Permission granted…’ ‘Unbelievable’ player now on the verge of leaving West Ham
Lyon have reportedly reached an agreement to sign West Ham winger Said Benrahma, with the forward set to move to France initially on loan.
The 28-year-old Algerian international has been strongly linked with a move away from the Hammers all January, with Benrahma linked with the likes of Brentford, Everton and Olympique Marseille.
However, in recent days it is Lyon who have taken the lead in the race to sign Benrahma, a player former West Ham captain Declan Rice once lauded as ‘unbelievable’.
And , a deal is now in place for Benrahma to join Lyon, with the winger given permission by the Irons to travel to France to complete the move.
As per the journalist, the deal will initially be a loan move though Lyon have an obligation to sign Benrahma in the summer for €15m (£12m), a deal that West Ham fans will be delighted with.
Indeed, the sale of the winger could now allow West Ham to bring in an attacker before the closure of the window tomorrow, especially if a deal to let Benrahma leave for Lyon can be completed today.
Said Benrahma joining Lyon is massive for West Ham

West Ham have been one of the more active Premier League teams in the January market, with the loan signing of Kalvin Phillips arguably the best deal of the entire month.
Yet the pending departure of Benrahma could be massive for West Ham, who will now have some funds to make another signing in the market with just under 48 hours to go.
A winger has been on the Irons agenda all January, and with Benrahma leaving for a guaranteed fee at the end of the season, West Ham can now go all out to bring in such a player.
Whilst time is running out, the Hammers have all the tools needed to pull off another signing, and Benrahma’s departure can be thanked for such a possibility.
