Liverpool transfer links are naming Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar as a target – and some Reds fans on Twitter are responding to say they would love to see him at Anfield.

It is understood Jurgen Klopp’s team are battling Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal for the Frenchman.
The report explains Liverpool may be “tempted” with an offer after following the Lyon star for a while. However, it’s the north London duo Arsenal and Tottenham that lead the race.
Additionally, French side Lyon do want to sell him this summer. It’s believed €25million (£21.5million) could be enough to secure a deal, so that looks fairly cheap for potential suitors.

Aouar finished last season with eight goals and four assists in 33 appearances for his club. The box-to-box central midfielder is someone on paper that could replace the Georginio Wijnaldum void because of his quality.
He’s certainly got the technical ability and attacking edge that could see him bring an exciting profile to the squad.
But, it’s worth noting he’s spent his entire senior club career at Lyon.
