Pepe’s potential arrival should have Walcott fearing for his Everton future
According to the , Everton remain interested in signing Nicolas Pepe. Whilst the Toffees may struggle to stump up the required cash, bringing the 24-year-old winger to Goodison Park would be a major coup for Marco Silva.
The wide man is in high demand following an astonishing season with Lille last time out. The 11-cap Ivory Coast international was in scintillating form, racking up 22 goals and 11 assists in Ligue 1.

He would be a brilliant signing for the Toffees and could be the man to shine on the right flank for them for years to come. However, for Theo Walcott, Pepe’s potential arrival on Merseyside must be a cause for concern.
Walcott did not have a good campaign last season. Silva may now feel the time has come to find an upgrade on the 30-year-old. However, the former Arsenal man still has a good few years to run on his current contract with Everton, and the Toffees could struggle to find another club willing to pay the 47-cap England man’s wages.
The arrival of Pepe would likely leave Walcott languishing on Everton’s bench then. Walcott is not the only current Everton star who should be concerned either. Ademola Lookman did not get a huge amount of Premier League game time last season. The 21-year-old Englishman could see his opportunities curtailed further by the arrival of Pepe.
