‘People don’t know’: £12m player says Tottenham stopped him getting his injury treated, caused him to leave
Kieran Trippier has spoken about his exit from Tottenham Hotspur after losing the 2019 Champions League final.
Trippier t🌌old the podcast that there was a disagreement behind the scenes over how best to treat an injury.
The right-back the month af❀ter that 2-0 defeat to Liverpool under Maur🃏icio Pochettino.
And he sai𒁏d lots of issues built up behind the scenes before his exit but the injury issue was the icing on top of the cake.

Trippier on Tottenham exit
He said: “I was on anti inflammatories, paracetamol. I knew at Christmas time🍃 I needed surgery.
“There was me, 🌸Christian (Eriksen) and Ben 🌸Davies at the time and they had surgery, but I didn’t.
“That was one of m✃y arguments; ‘꧃why am I not allowed surgery?’.
“There were loads of things people don’t know ꧟about that was building𒆙 up and that was the icing on the cake before I left.
“I hold no grudges against Tottenham though🤡. I probably wouldn’t be in this position now if I didn👍’t go there in the first place, so I had a lot to thank them for.
“It was 🐽only a three or four week injury though, so I don’🃏t understand.”
Trippier went on to win L𝕴a Liga with Atletico Madrid, before 🅺returning to England with Newcastle in a deal in January.
He has been a huge figure in the Toon Army’s recent resurgence, wearing the captain’s armband as they have soareꦉd into the ⭕Champions League places during his first full season at the club.
And he is now bound for the World Cup with England. The first one he went to was as a Spurs playe💖r, 💝in 2018, when he was one of England’s best players as they reached the semi-finals.
After setting up Luke Shaw’s 💛goal in the final of Euro 2020 last year, Trippier will be hoping England can go one better this time.
