Antonio had to undergo surgery on the issue, and it is the third hamstring injury of his career so far.

The £7 million signing from Nottingham Forest () revealed earlier this month he has been doing everything he can to strengthen his hamstring, including taking extra supplements.

West Ham’s first game back after the international break is against Tottenham Hotspur on November 23, which Pellegrini hopes he will be available for.

He is a player who brings brilliant physical qualities to a team with a lot of technical players such as Felipe Anderson, Manuel Lanzini and Pablo Fornals.

The versatile ace often proves to be a real handful for opposition defenders, and the Hammers have missed his pace and power in recent weeks.

Antonio is a driving force, and the Irons will benefit immensely when he’s back fit.
