Pedro Obiang sends Instagram message to West Ham star Manuel Lanzini after comeback

Manuel Lanzini has posted on Instagram after scoring a stunning goal from all of 25 yards as West Ham United produced a magical comeback to draw 3-3 with Tottenham Hotspur – and Pedro Obiang sent Lanzini a message on Instagram.

Obiang, 28, is currently playing for Italian side Sassuolo but one of his best moments in a West Ham shirt was a long-range strike against Tottenham. The Equatorial Guinea international won the 2017-18 Goal of the Season award for his thunderbolt.

Spurs went 3-0 up inside the first 20 minutes on Sunday. A brace and an assist from Harry Kane – with Son Heung-min scoring the other goal – saw Spurs coast into the 80th minute. West Ham, though, were not done.

A Fabian Balbuena header, a Davinson Sanchez own goal and then an injury-time wonder strike from Lanzini saw West Ham do the impossible and equalise. Lanzini posted on Instagram after his moment of magic for the Hammers.

Both sides can take positives from the match, but West Ham will be delighted to have netted seven points from their last three games – after facing Leicester, Wolves and Tottenham. Spurs have Kane and Son in the form of their lives.

Obiang responded to Lanzini’s post, labelling his former Hammers teammate a diamond – and that the Argentina international has the tools to make a difference, something which most players lack. Marko Arnautovic also commented som emojis.

His comment is translated as: “Diamonds always have the quality that makes them different to others”.
