Paul Merson says he expects Liverpool to sign £50m player from rival Premier League club
Liverpool are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window.
The Reds are a point away from winning the Premier League title, and they should be able to get over the line against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Arne Slot deserves a lot of praise for leading Liverpool to the title in his very first season – even Jurgen Klopp wasn’t able to do that.
The Merseysiders will likely find it harder next season, so they will need reinforcements once the window opens this summer.
Paul Merson thinks he knows the one player Liverpool will sign.
Paul Merson says he expects Liverpool to sign Milos Kerkez
Milos Kerkez has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool over the last few months.
The Hungary international has had a terrific season at Bournemouth. He has been one of their standout players and is almost certain to move to a bigger club this summer.
TBR Football revealed at the end of March that Liverpool were ready to open talks to sign Kerkez, who is one of their top left-back targets.
We also revealed that Kerkez’s agents have reached out to a number of clubs to let them know that his client will be available. The likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea are aware of his situation, as are European sides Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Napoli and his old club AC Milan.
But, despite all the links to multiple different clubs, Merson believes Kerkez will be heading to Anfield to join Liverpool this summer.
He told : “Liverpool have basically signed two £100 million-worth players with the renewals of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk. They are basically the best players in the world in their respective positions.
“Liverpool now need a new left-back and I expect them to get Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, which will sort out their business for the summer.”

Liverpool’s stance on their current left-backs Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas
Liverpool will definitely be on the market for a new left-back this summer.
Andy Robertson has been a great servant for the Reds over the years, while Kostas Tsimikas has been a decent backup too.
But, a new left-back is a necessity to take the club to the next level, and Kerkez, who TBR can reveal is valued at £50 million by Bournemouth, would be a great option.
But what would then happen to the Reds’ current left-backs?
TBR has confirmed that Tsimikas will be the one to make way. Robertson, as things stand, is expected to stay at Liverpool beyond the end of this summer’s transfer window.
