Paul Merson predicts who’ll win between Chelsea and Crystal Palace tonight

Chelsea and Crystal Palace are in Premier League action at Stamford Bridge tonight, and Paul Merson has predicted who he thinks will win.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s Blues, currently 11th in the standings, will edge back into the top half of the table with a victory over the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Roy Hodgson‘s Palace are too close to the bottom three for comfort, and will be eager to pull away from the danger zone.

Although Chelsea’s form remains inconsistent, they’ve been fairly solid at Stamford Bridge of late.

The Blues have won their last three at home and are unbeaten in five at SW6 in all competitions.

As for Palace, they’ve won just one of their last 11 games, and they’ve their last 11 league games against Chelsea.

The Blues have also beaten the Eagles in the past six games at Stamford Bridge, keeping clean sheets in each of the last four.

In terms of definite Blues absences, Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer are suspended, while Enzo Fernandez and Lesley Ugochukwu are injured.

Meanwhile, Palace are definitely without Sam Johnstone, Joel Ward, Rob Holding, Cheick Doucoure and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

Paul Merson, taking to as he arrived at Stamford Bridge for the match, shared his score prediction for the game.

He reckons it’ll be a “very tough” game for the Blues, who’ll be missing two top players, but feels they’ll do enough to sneak a 1-0 win.

I reckon the Blues will indeed get the better of the Eagles, like Merson has predicted. Likewise, I feel it’ll be a close affair.

I reckon it’ll be a 2-1 win for the hosts, who have been strong at home and are taking on a team that has been struggling for form, even though they’ve got some good draws in recent weeks.
