Paul Merson predicts where Tottenham will finish next season if Harry Kane is sold
Paul Merson has revealed his prediction on where Tottenham Hotspur will finish in the Premier League next season if they sell Harry Kane this month.
Spurs are locked in talks with Bayern Munich regarding their talisman. The German champions have had three bids rejected already, but they’re showing no signs of giving up.
There’s still a very good chance that Tottenham will sell Kane in this window, and Merson claimed on it will have serious consequences on Spurs’ season.

Paul Merson says Tottenham will finish in the bottom half if they sell Harry Kane
Tottenham finished eighth in the Premier League in what was a terrible season last time out.
Antonio Conte started the campaign at the helm and he looked like he didn’t want to be there. He finally left after a public outburst, and his assistant, Cristian Stellini, was given the job – he barely lasted a month.
Ryan Mason was then handed the responsibility until the end of the season and he did as well as he could, but Tottenham’s season, as a whole, was just shocking.
The only constant, however, was the brilliance of Harry Kane. The Englishman scored over 30 goals in a really poor side last season, and he’s the biggest reason why Tottenham didn’t have an even worse campaign.
There’s now a chance that Tottenham will be without Kane next season. If that happens, Merson is convinced Spurs will not even finish in the top 10.
He said: “Kane scored 30 goals last season and Spurs finished nowhere near. You feel sorry for Ange Postecoglou, but you’re talking about a team who might, might, get in the top four if he stays, to a team who doesn’t get in the top half if he leaves.
“They won’t even get in the top half! They’re 100 per cent a bottom-half team if he leaves.
“Who is going to get the goals? They finished eighth last season. I like James Maddison, he’s a good player. But Leicester got relegated.”

TBR View:
Well, if Kane leaves and every other Tottenham player performs as badly as they did last season, yep, they’ll probably finish 12th, just like Chelsea did last term.
However, Spurs have looked really good in pre-season.
Ange Postecoglou has brought attacking football back to the club, and there seems to be a real sense of positivity now – both on and off the pitch.
Tottenham fans should have faith in Postecoglou to deliver even if Kane leaves, but it’s the players who need to step up at the end of the day. If they don’t, the season will be a disaster.
