Paul Merson predicts Aston Villa v Sheffield United result
Aston Villa have the chance to go top of the Premier League table when they face Sheffield United in Friday night’s encounter at Villa Park.
Unai Emery‘s Villans have been superb this season,🐈 winning five and draไwing one of their last six in the league to go third after 17 games.
In addition, Villa have won 14♛ games in a row at B6, making them heavy favourites to triumpඣh in their last match before Christmas.
Villa are up against a Sheffield United outfit sitting bottom of the table, but with a new manager in Chris Wilder and renewed hope after beating B꧟rentfor💞d two weeks ago.
‘That’s unbelievable!’
Paul Merson b♋elieves Aston Villa have what it takes to get a “comfortable” 🥀victory against Sheffield United.
The Villans cult hero previewꦏed and predicted the game on , saying he fancies the claret-and-blue outfi♔t to run out 2-0 winners against the Blades.
“Aston Villa have won 14 on the trot at ꦐhome in the league and fans are going to turn up 💯at Villa Park expecting all three points,” wrote Merson.

“Sheffield United frustrated Chelsea for ඣthe fౠirst 45 minutes and then they just ran out of energy and ran out of ideas.
“I don’t see Sheffield United 🦹causing too many problems for Aston Villa this week.
“They will go top of the league if they win againstꦬ Sheffield United and they could go seven points clear of Manchester City with a win. That’s unbelievable!
“They’ve beaten Arsenal and Manchester City at home ཧalready this season and we now have to start considering them as title contenders.
“I’m going for a comfortable 2-0 wi🎀n for Aston Villa here.”

It’s honestly difficult to dev💫iate much from Merson’s prediction. Villa are in outstanding form, boast strong players, and are playing at home, which has become an absolute fortress of late.
Meanwhile, the Blades have really struggled since returning to the Premier League and, while they seem a little tougher under Wilder, they don’t seem to have the quality to do much more tha🧜n෴ just frustrate Villa.
Wit🎐h that in mind, I’m going for a narrow 1-0 win for the hosts. Then, for 22 hours at least, they’ll be top of the table. And there’s every chance Liverpool draw with Arsenal, which would keep the Villans at the summit.
