Paul Merson hails West Ham star who ‘would get in the Spurs team all day long’
Paul Merson has waxed lyrical about West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma, who was linked with Tottenham Hotspur over the summer.
The Hammers have progressed superbly under David Moyes, who has made some great signings since rejoining the club.
Zouma is one of those, West Ham signing the 26-year-old from Chelsea in the summer for a reported £.

Spurs were apparently eyeing Zouma as well, reporting their interest in mid-August.
On Sunday, Tottenham lock horns with West Ham at the London Stadium.
Both sides were in European action in midweek, with Spurs losing at Vitesse in the Europa Conference League and the Hammers beating Genk 3-0 in the Europa League.
Merson, writing in the , is adamant that “West Ham have gone past Tottenham” and that the balance of power is changing in London.
He cited Zouma joining the Hammers over Spurs as a sign of that.
“West Ham used to be very one-paced,” wrote Merson. “They were an ageing team.

“If they’d gone to Everton and won back then you’d have been majorly shocked.
“I don’t blink now when they win a game. I’m surprised when they get beaten at home by Manchester United. That’s how much they’ve changed.
“I think David Moyes has got his team together now. This is his team now. They were going nowhere but he’s steadily bought good players in.
“Kurt Zouma would get in the Spurs team all day long but West Ham got him – from a big club in the Champions League. Wouldn’t have happened a few years ago.
“They have recruited so well. Thomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal have been amazing signings.
“And I think they will have too much for Spurs.”
