Journalist shares how much Liverpool and Fulham will make after Brentford agree £27.5m Fabio Carvalho deal

In one of the most surprising turns in the summer window, Liverpool have agreed to sell Fabio Carvalho to Brentford.

Reports this afternoon have broken from to confirm that a deal is in place for Liverpool to sell Carvalho for more than £20m.

For Liverpool, the sale will bring in funds to the club ahead of what many hope will be a busy few weeks ahead of the window ending.

Carvalho has impressed this pre-season but clearly, Arne Slot has decided to allow the former Fulham man to move on.

And giving more information on the deal, respected journalist Paul Joyce has now shared exactly what Liverpool stand to pocket, with Fulham also set to benefit.

How much Liverpool and Fulham will receive as Brentford agree to buy Fabio Carvalho

to provide a more in-depth look at the figures involved, Joyce has said the total deal for Carvalho will be worth more than £27m.

Further, Fulham will also bank around £4m based on Joyce’s breakdown here.

for Carvalho back in 2022 but he has failed to make an impression at Anfield and spent part of last season on loan at Hull.

Liverpool had to sell at that price

Sometimes, a deal comes along that just makes sense for everyone and this is one of those.

Carvalho is clearly not going to cement himself in the Liverpool team and from the club’s side of things, the money on offer is good business.

Brentford, of course, are well known for taking players and improving them so for Carvalho, the move is a no-brainer.

But really, it’s Liverpool who have won the day here, given their initial outlay.

Indeed, at a time when we see so many loan deals being done, it’s nice to see a club taking a proper punt on a player and agreeing to pay the asking price.

Carvalho, then, could well thrive under Thomas Frank.
