Paul Heckingbottom watches Leeds United win, ‘no animosity’ reported
Leeds United took on Huddersfield Town at the weekend and continued their wonderful run of form in the Championship. The Whites have now won six games on the bounce as they and West Brom threaten to break away from the pack in the hunt for Premier League promotion.
Marcelo Bielsa has clearly transformed the Leeds United side into promotion contenders, after narrowly missing out on a return to top-flight football last season.
It is hard to imagine Bielsa’s predecessor Paul Heckingbottom, with the greatest respect, having the same impact at Elland Road.
Since he was sacked in June 2018, the former Barnsley boss has worked with Scottish side Hibernian. He recently lost his job at Easter Road after a string of poor results.
This weekend, it seems he took the time to go and watch his old club in action, as documented on social media.
It also appears there are no hard feelings between Heckingbottom and the club. Heckingbottom spoke with Leeds United managing director Angus Kinnear and director of football Victor Orta at the game. In fact, it is even suggested Orta put an arm around him with no animosity visible.

Heckingbottom, it seems, understands that Leeds simply felt a dramatic new direction was necessary in the summer of 2018 and the evidence is clear that it has paid off.
No doubt the former Leeds boss will be hoping for the club’s promotion just as much as the fans at Elland Road.
