Patrick Cutrone’s move to Fiorentina from Wolves is reportedly back on the cards
Wolves forward Patrick Cutrone is close to returning to Serie A with Fiorentina after his move was resurrected,
They that a 18 million euro (£15.3 million) deal is close, resulting in a loss from the £16.2 million arrival of the striker in the summer.
It looked like Cutrone’s exit was dead in the water but it is now back on the cards, with an initial 18 month loan deal and an obligation to buy after that.
Two million euros is being paid as a loan fee, with the rest of the money to come at the end of the loan spell.
TBR’s View – Cutrone a rare transfer misstep for Wolves
For a club who have bought so many players in recent years, Wolves have had far fewer mistakes in the transfer market than one might expect.
Cutrone is a rare one but they’ve acted swiftly and decisively to rectify it, making a small loss but avoiding the situation escalating.
It remains to be seen who comes through the door to replace Cutrone and the fact that the bulk of the money for his departure won’t arrive until 2021 might limit their ability to secure a new hitman.
But Wolves can be trusted to do the right thing in the transfer market on the basis of their record in the last three years.
