Patrick Bamford says he had a big argument with £1.3m Leeds player, but now they’re best mates

Football can be an emotive game at times.

Indeed, while it can sometimes seem as though players don’t really care in the same way fans do, make no mistake about it, that passion for the game is felt at every single level.

Of course, it’s brilliant for players to show passion, but sometimes, that passion can spill over into something unsavoury.

We’ve seen teammates fight on the pitch and in training in recent years, and speaking on the , Patrick Bamford has shared a story of a mini bust-up at Leeds United.

Bamford says that he actually had a big argument with Stuart Dallas during his early days at Leeds after a game, but now, the two are best mates and very close after patching things up quickly.

Patrick Bamford had an argument with Stuart Dallas

Bamford spoke about his argument with the man.

“There’s never been punches and stuff thrown. Weirdly, I like to think of myself as a calm guy, but I’ve been involved in a few. One of them was at Leeds, the first or second year I was there, me and Stuart Dallas had an argument, but it was like the heat of the moment after a game in the changing room, but we rang each other on the way home and we were absolutely fine, now he’s one of my best mates. Me and Stu aren’t aggressive people, so it was easy to patch it up, but after that we were probably closer,” Bamford said.

Sorted

As strange as this sounds, this is sort of what you want to hear from your players.

An argument after a match only shows how much these two cared about Leeds’ results, and the fact that it was sorted very quickly meant that there was no harm done.

Sometimes, you need that injection of adrenaline and anger in a team to go to the next level, and as long as it doesn’t fully spill over, it can really help the team focus and even bring people closer together after the dust has settled.

Bamford and Dallas seemingly had a bit of an issue in the past, but now, they’re as close as can be.
