Patrick Bamford reacts to Leeds hat-trick on Instagram; Roofe and Lascelles among those to reply

A host of current and former Leeds United players, as well as a couple of Premier League rivals all sent messages to Patrick Bamford after the striker took to Instagram to express his delight following the Whites’ win on Friday night.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side continue to fly high in the Premier League table after they beat Aston Villa 3-0. It had appeared that Leeds would be underdogs following their defeat to Wolves earlier in the week.

Villa meanwhile, went into the clash with a flawless record in the league. And there were a few occasions when they came incredibly close to breaking the deadlock.

However, Leeds had chances of their own. And it was Bamford who proved to be the difference as he bagged a stunning hat-trick.

The striker’s first goal came as he reacted quickest after Emi Martinez saved Rodrigo’s shot. He then doubled Leeds’s lead with an emphatic effort from the edge of the box that found the roof of the net.

And he completed the treble with a delicious finish inside the box. Bamford had a number of Villa players around him. However, he still managed to guide the ball into the far corner in superb fashion.

It was Bamford’s first hat-trick since playing against Leeds for Middlesbrough in 2018. And it takes his tally for the season to six in the Premier League.

He has certainly silenced those who doubted whether he would score at the highest level. Nevertheless, the 27-year-old seemed more interested in focusing on the result on social media.
