Patrick Bamford comments on Diego Llorente behaviour behind Leeds scenes

that Diego Llorente is beginning to become more out of his shell behind the scenes at Elland Road – after a difficult start to life following his move from Real Sociedad.

Llorente, 27, got his first goal for the Yorkshire club since swapping La Liga side Real Sociedad for Leeds last summer – in only his tenth outing for Marcelo Bielsa’s men. He has already suffered three injuries this term.

Joining Leeds, he instantly suffered a groin injury while on Spain duty. Then, he suffered an injury against Chelsea on his debut – and eight minutes after returning from his second problem, pulled his hamstring at Newcastle.

However, he has now played eight league games in a row for Leeds – and scored a brilliant header to draw 1-1 against Liverpool. Bamford spoke of how he is a quiet character, but is beginning to settle in and become more relaxed.

“Since he started coming into the team, back fit and start playing more, he’s opened up more,” . “He was relatively quiet when he first joined, it’s hard coming to a new club, getting injured and not knowing anyone.

“He is playing better and better each game. He’s quiet, an introvert. He does interact, he is learning English more. The Spanish lads helped him feel welcome. He’s starting to feel more settled.”

TBR’s view – Llorente getting better, but still areas he can improve

Llorente is still showing some weaknesses – specifically when it comes to being more dominant, and putting your foot in where it hurts.

But on the ball, Llorente has been excellent and his goal against Liverpool has been coming – missing good chances against the likes of Southampton and other teams in his recent run of injury-free appearances.

It must be remembered that he has only played 10 games, and the £22,000-a-week defender () is going to keep on improving.
